AGC Education Foundation aims to serve as the education clearinghouse for the construction industry in Washington, so that we can all receive training and education about careers, best practices and legal requirements in our business. Class Registration
REGISTRATION/CANCELLATION POLICY
There is a $25.00 cancellation fee for all class registrations. The customer has one week (5 business days) prior to the start date of the selected class to cancel the registration, transfer or to interchange attendees. To clarify, if the class is on Tuesday, you must cancel by the Monday of the week before the class. If cancellation occurs within one week of the class (5 business days or less), the customer must replace the canceled registrant or forfeit the registration fee. All funds must be paid before the first day of any given class in order to guarantee class placement, otherwise the class will be filled with wait-list participants.

Washinton Excise Taxes for Contractors
What you need to know to avoid costly mistakes
Darcy Kooiker, CPA and Director of State and Local Tax Services at Berntson Porter & Company will
present a half day seminar on Washington State excise taxes as they apply to contractors. As a former
Washington Department of Revenue auditor, Darcy can demystify the process the Department
takes to auditing contractors and the types of things they look for. During the seminar you'll learn
tips on how to identify any reporting problems and how to correct them to obtain refunds or avoid
penalties.
Topics to be covered include:
• What types of revenues are subject to business and occupation tax
• What business and occupation tax classification(s) apply to your activities
• When you need to charge your customers sales tax and what rates apply
• Which goods and services you purchase are subject to sales or use tax
• What deductions and credits are available to contractors
